New: What's this about US West lowering fees? (5/10/99)
Previous Contents Next
Effective May 11th, 1999, US West reduced certain prices/fees for DSL:

The basic 256K monthly rate has been reduced from $40/month to $29.95/month. (This reduction affects all 256K DSL subscribers, both new and current.)

The setup fee (or "Non-recurring Change Charge" in US West terms) was reduced from $110 to $69. (This fee is for converting the phone line.)

The fee for the hardware has not only changed, but there is a new option:

  1. The external Cisco router/modem (and 3Com network card for Windows) now costs $95.
  2. An internal Cisco router/modem (for Windows) is now available for $45.
The monthly rates for higher speed DSL are staying the same.
