Poem Number 1090
I saw you yesterday
or was it the day before
No matter, with you it's evermore
the mind's eye is always full
when it's out on the pull

Poem Number 1091
buttons
you hide them on your shirts and coats
thinking I won't notice them hidden there
hopeful they won't be pressed
dear there are other ways to make you come undone
then pressing my tongue into your ear
may I take your jacket? why not loosen your tie?

showy birds and handy shandies

Commentary:
Why do you want to climb the mountain?
Because it's there, He said
I want to stand where no one's ever stood.
And, when you've climbed them all?
He raised his head
Then, there's the moon
And, after that, the stars!

Commentary:
The sun comes out of the crimson dawn
And kisses the roses and daffodils
Then, faces the day with a big red yawn
And chases the mists from the thousand hills.
The sun comes out of the crimson dawn
The empty dawn
The lonely dawn
I reach for you but you are gone
Gone with the mists from the thousand hills.

Commentary:
Sometimes
At night
Death comes on little rat feet
And scurries across my face
And plucks at my eyelids
And tries to get inside my head
I lie there in the darkness
Holding my eyes shut tight
And she goes away.

frantic indifference
i promise myself
that i shan't continue
the myth
that the vision i see
ought to be reality
instead of the path
to the abyss
