Rose Necropolis
In silent crystal sepulchresAdd to commentary
Unmoved by day or night,
They stand like solemn monuments
Through longing and hindsight
The crisp and carmine petals
That bittersweet once were,
Occupy a dwelling now
Where thoughts and dust occur.
Unknowing of their lot of late
In death they serve again
To venerate what was and wait
For things that might have been.

beautiful, sad
Star Debree
You and I are star debris.Add to commentary
There is more than death and birth.
For now it's flesh and gravity
That have bound us to the Earth.
Though we try so to deny it
With our hope and fear and crime,
We're still ripples small and quiet
In the endless pool of time.
We have need to leave a mark
Before we somehow vanish.
But where to? and who will banish?
I say we will just embark.
A foolish human saying
Says that everything must end.
But there's no proof to defend
And make it worth obeying.
We've always been in being,
Contrary to insistence,
Perhaps not touching and seeing,
But some kind of existence.
You and I are star debris
There is more than death and birth.
For now it's flesh and gravity
That have bound us to the Earth.

Longing for an Independent Soul
Twenty one and still as confinedAdd to commentary
As on the day of my birth
If others shape my state of mind
Who will create my self worth
Crippled by critics concerned with my flaws
Life without purpose, fear without cause.
Still striving toward another one's goal,
Longing for an independent soul.
Knowing
I have known the perplexing powerAdd to commentary
Of transversing a crowded street
Yet aware of the tiniest flower
In some remote island of peat
In some unseen foreign forest
Not knowing the site or its distance
yet knowing somehow that we must
complete each other's existence.
