Poem Number 224
Love

Add a line to poem number 224
You can Close this poem if it has been up for a long enough time and looks like it is complete.
Commentary:
Such a thing is this when dissipated
To diametric edges of the earth
- anticipated

And longed for with a reminescent mirth
That makes one keep a place for it and tend it
- for it's unseen worth

Although we can't fully comprehend it
Such a thing is this, we set it up, bow
- to it, defend it,

Relinquish our souls to it and avow,
And take from it - though it's gifts be fated
- what it will allow.

Poem Number 225
Sometimes Considering Nitrogen Narcosis

Add a line to poem number 225
You can Close this poem if it has been up for a long enough time and looks like it is complete.
Commentary:
Tossed by water, lost from beach -
The sands are ever moving.
Solid earth seems far from reach;
The depths sound soft and soothing.

Strangled by a sable sky,
A sombre world has bound you.
Darkness low and darkness high
Is closing all around you.

Undulate nad inundate,
Upon this mighty ocean.
Taste a thirst you cannot sate
With paralyzed emotion.

Thoughts are constant at your back -
Threatening, animated -
Casting shadows long and black
So every movements jaded.

Thrashing, clashing - still too fast.
The sweetest dream is sleep.
Lust to feel at once at last,
The rapture of the deep.

Overpowered by the urge,
Surrendering to the sway,
Just as all your thoughts submerge...
Find solid earth
and stay.

Poem Number 226
The Secret

Add a line to poem number 226
You can Close this poem if it has been up for a long enough time and looks like it is complete.
Commentary:
You've known the deep frustration
Of desire without pursuit
The ceaseless, strong temptation -
Lust to taste forbidden fruit.

Emotion and fear coax you;
And desires misunderstood
Choke back the need that chokes you
And obscures your "bad" and "good".

Your inhibitions bind you.
Religion is a prison.
Confussion and compassion
Breed constant indecision.

Sometimes numbness, sometimes pain -
A loneliest existence.
Always fear and grief remain
To tease your weak resistance.

Still your words and deeds betray,
To one who really knows you
Strong denials eat away
Your bursting chest - expose you.

And, though your spirit's arching
Ever to it's baneful goal,
Your secret bites your parching
Tongue and mocks your screaming soul.

Poem Number 227
Wedding Vow

Add a line to poem number 227
You can Close this poem if it has been up for a long enough time and looks like it is complete.
Commentary:
No gods, no laws, no justice,
But only you and I
With only earth below us
- above us sky.
Is love enough between us,
If all we have is love?
Without a higher edifice,
Is love enough?
Is love enough - love and bane -
Without devine direction,
Or hope for any soul to gain
Resurrection?

If you know these lives and love
We share across the sands
Is all and brief - but still enough -
Then take my hands;
And let our lives have one lathe:
Our thoughts for one another.
And vow your energy and faith
To no other;
But hold me in this limbo lour,
With earth below, above - the sky,
And love between us - nothing more -
Expecting but to love and then to die.
