As usual, it's a little overgrown, but I'm happy with the current look. Finally my E. stellata is growing back. It's just a little to the right of the tank center.

Tank Archive

Equipment:
  • 240 watts of flourescent lighting, provided by 6 40w tubes.
    Current tubes are:
    • 2 Triton tubes
    • 2 5000K Daylight tubes (GE Chroma 50)
    • 2 6500K Ultra Daylight tubes (Philips Daylight Delux, F40DX)
  • CO2 injection using a 10lb CO2 tank, pressure regulator, needle valve, and home-made CO2 reactor.
  • Substrate is locally collected river gravel/sand, with a little flourite mixed in by accident!
  • Filtration is provided by a home-made wet/dry.
  • Heat provided by 2 Ebo Jager 250w submersibles, in the sump.

Water Parameters:
  • Temp: 76 degrees (f)
  • pH: 7.6 from the tap, 6.8 after CO2 injection (according to my new pH meter!)
  • KH: 4.0 dKH (raised up from the 2-3 degrees using calcium carbonate and baking soda)
  • GH: 8.0 dGH
  • Nitrates: 20ppm (too high).
  • Fertilizers: Daily addition of Trace mix, and KCl.
