This was my first RC Plane. I built it exactly according to the instructions, but used an ESC instead of the Servo/Microswitch for throttle. The results were excellent. Using the stock Thrustmaster motor, and the provided Master Airscrew 8x4 prop produced a plane that flew, but power was lacking.

An upgrade in prop pitch to an 8x5 gave more power. After several bad landings causing a bent motor shaft, the motor was upgraded to the Kyosho Magnetic Mayhem. This gave a good increase in power, and a slight increase in duration.

Other upgrades included a new wing with ailerons added, and a steerable nosewheel connected to the rudder servo. Initial landing attempts with the steerable nosewheel resulted in a cracked firewall. I finally determined that this was due to the steerable nosegear placing all the load on the bottom of the firewall, right where the stock firewall had cooling holes cut. I cut a new firewall, without the cooling holes, and added the "picnic spoon" scoops on the side for cooling.
