Installation
system request
computers:
The FMS needs a IBM-PC or 100% a compatible computer with at least 90 mc/s clock frequency.
Operating system:
So that the FMS on your computer runs, the operating system MSDOS must or Win95/98 to be installed.
Diagram card:
Their diagram card must support at least a dissolution of 640x400 pixel and 256 colours.
Control:
You can control the FMS either with the keyboard, with a Joystick or with your own remote control. For the operation of a remote control at the parallel port INTERFACE you need a free parallel interface, which can be operated in the INTERRUPT mode.
Sound:
The FMS supports the standard PC Speaker and all sound cards, which are compatible 100% to Soundblaster.
Installation of the FMS
unpacking:
Unpack the Zip file " FMS160d.zip " into an empty directory on their fixed disk. A Zip file can e.g. with ZipCentral (freely available http://zipcentral.isCool.net under ) unpacked to become. Start the file FMS160d.exe.
Create a Joysticks:
Start in the FMS the dialog window " control adjustments " and select you as input device the Jostick. Assign under channel loading to the control functions an axle of their Joysticks in each case. If you use a Standart Joystick, the following channel loading should function:
Rudder 1
Elevator 2
Aileron 0     (does not occupy 0 =)
Engine throttle 0     (does not occupy 0 =)
In the adjustments " I/CO area LPTx " and " INTERRUPT LPTx " does not have to be modified anything, since these do not have a meaning for the operation of a Joysticks. Terminate the dialog window through acknowledge with the key of ok one starting you the calibration (" calibrate control ") and follow you the statements on the display. If you loaded still no model, complete this now, and start you the simulation. Check the channel loading and excursion direction of the individual functions. If the rudders do not show a reaction, then this is either at a correctly not attached Joystick, because of a false channel loading (rudder with Achsen=Kanaele occupied, which does not have its Joystick) or the Joystick is not calibrated or false. Modify if necessarily again the channel loading and excursion direction in the dialog window " control adjustments " (Rev = Ausschalgsrichtungsumkehr). If you want an exponential control behavior for a control function, then you sezten the option " Exp ". memory you the adjustments, so that those are loaded automatically you with the next start of the FMS.
Sound card:
If the environment variable BLASTER was set correctly detects the FMS its sound card automatically. If this is not the case, you must insert the still following line into their auto+cExec-asked:
SET BLASTER=Ax Iy Dz
whereby x the address of its sound card, y of the INTERRUPTS and z the DMA (direct memory access) channel is. Thus e.g. SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 for Adresse=220, IRQ5, DMA=1. Start their computer again. Now also their sound card should be specified under " sound adjustments " together with the PC Speaker. Select their Soundblaster and acknowledge you with " ok one ".
Remote control:
Attach the parallel port INTERFACE correctly to their computer and start you these. Start the FMS and open you the window " control adjustments ". Select under input device the remote control. Stop the I/O area and the INTERRUPT number of their parallel port. If you use Win 95/98, you can determine these values as follows:
1. Open over start/adjustment/system control the system control file of Windows.
2. Open the window " characteristics for system " there (doubleclick the symbol " system ").
3. Change to the card " device manager " and select you by one doubleclick under " ports (COM and LPT) " the parallel interface used by you out.
4. Change now in the dialog window " characteristics for printer link (LPTx) " on the card " resources " and take you the I/O area and the INTERRUPT number of the list " resources adjustments "
Back in the FMS you assign a channel of their remote control to the control functions under channel loading. Terminate the dialog window through acknowledge with the key of ok one switching you their sender and deactivate you all merge programs of your sender. Start the calibration (" calibrate control ") and follow you the statements on the display. Test your adjustments in the simulation and modify you in the dialog window " control adjustments " still the " direction of rotation of the Servos " through set if necessary from " Rev ". If you want an exponential control behavior for a control function, then you sezten the option " Exp ". memory you the adjustments, so that those are loaded automatically you with the next start of the FMS.
