About Our Church

www.wheatridgeucc.org

  • Our Pastor, the Rev. David E. Conner, Th.D., has been with us since December 1, 2001.
  • We are known for our excellent music program under the direction of Rosanna Rains as of February 1, 2008. Kay Bailey joined our staff as organist in August, 2009.
  • On June 6, 2004, we voted to become an "Open and Affirming" Congregation of the United Church of Christ. Our own Open and Affirming Resolution appears on our Moderator's Page.
  • Our spacious sanctuary, designed by an award-winning architect, provides a creative and inspiring setting for worship. Our building is wheelchair-accessible.
  • We are a friendly congregation, welcoming persons of a wide variety of backgrounds and orientations.
  • Most of our members identify themselves as "theologically moderate" to "theologically liberal."

A Welcoming Congregation

by Dona Harmon
a member of the church

In a quiet spot in Wheat Ridge
Tucked back among the trees
There stands a lovely red brick church
That beckons one to see.

The inside is traditional
With its altar and its pews,
And the church does welcome everyone,
Including differing views.

The congregation's members
Are not like any others.
They embrace all visitors
As sisters and as brothers.

You will hear a sermon
Judged the very best,
Addressing pertinent issues,
And we're sure you will feel blessed.

And so this Sunday morning
We hope you'll come along.
Meet us at church at 10:00 a.m.,
And join us all in song.
